Made the mistake of checking Twitter today and instantly regretted it. Lots of screaming and fighting and a ridiculous rant about Scorsese and Coppola not liking Marvel movies because they don't pander to white boys. Did I wake up in an alternate universe or something?

In sherlock fandom, it goes around periodically, usually now with old recycled misquotes, which people have to be reminded are not given to inform, but to elicit the reaction. All us "fandom olds" have to remind ourselves each time.

And some are entertainment that provides an escape from reality (amusement park rides is a perfect comparison). Both are valid and you can like both and enjoy them for what they are.
