AUTHOR'S NOTE (from previous chapter): A while back my muse was kicking around an idea for a scene to end this story. I wasn't sure I liked it. I felt the ending I had originally planned was stronger. It was also a more fitting ending if this story was to be treated like an episode of "Quantum Leap". Then this last season of "Lost" happened and I thought about where Jack and Sawyer might end up if Daniel's plan didn't work like it was supposed to. And after the finale, I decided I *had* to write that other ending.

This is it folks, the penultimate chapter of what is quite possibly the craziest story I've ever written (hey, you try crossing over two shows about time travel and see if you come out on the other side with your sanity intact). The last part of this chapter very closely follows the events of the season 5 finale of "Lost" with one big difference. Hope y'all have enjoyed this story and I'll catch you on the final chapter! :)

PS – I know I changed the translation on Jack’s tattoo. I think the actual translation of Matthew’s tattoo is just as appropriate as the fake one in this context. Sue me.
