Well, okay, maybe I don't hate *all* people. Maybe it's just the self-centered, uber-capitalist assholes around me that are skewing my perception of humanity. I was already pissed off about the sudden surge of new restaurants that are exactly like the family-owned restaurant I've worked at for years and seem determined to drive these sweet people out of their livelihood when some teenage moron tried to DRIVE ME OFF THE ROAD.

*seethes*

Also? Some wacknut in our neighboorhood put a Michele Bachmann sign in their yard despite the fact that SHE'S NOT EVEN ON OUR BALLOT. Not to mention she's an embarassment to the state of Minnesota. I mean really. The woman blamed the Democrats for the swine flu outbreak. She's clearly insane.

As a non-American who stil follows US politics to a degree, you have my complete sympathies. From whatever I've observed, blaming Democrats for just about everything from AIDs to, hell, Muslims (like me) is very much in the Republican tradition. My source: Fox News. Always good for a (hysterical) laugh.

Take solace in your own sanity (and those like you).

Ugh. I don't know how you can watch Fox News. Just thinking about all the hatred and propaganda that they spew on a regular basis makes me nauseous. Everytime I see Glen Beck's smirking face on a magazine I feel an urge to set it on fire.

They are right about the 9/11 terrorists being Muslim, but if we go down that ridiculous road of blaming all Muslims for that we might as well blame all Jews for killing Jesus, all Germans for the Holocaust and all Catholics (or, hell, all Christians for that matter) for the Inquisition. That way lies madness.

I hope there are more sane people in this country than the media makes it seem. I'm afraid they're mostly stupid and easily led to believe what big business wants them to believe. What's the quote? "Forgive them father, they know not what they do"?

PS - to add insult to crazy accusation, she was wrong about Democrats being in power during the last swine flu outbreak. Both times it happened a Republican was president. But you don't see Democrats accusing them of being responsible somehow because that would be INSANE. And she was re-elected. Ugh.
