Seriously. That is the only explanation I can think of. Saturday was September 11, the aniversary of a terrible tragedy. Know how some idiots in my neighboorhood acknowledged such a somber occasion? By shooting off fireworks like it was the goddamn 4th of July. I'm sorry, but that is just in poor taste.

Yeah, that is a little poor taste. One can only hope they found a good reason in all the hurt to celebrate.

I'd like to assume there was some other coincidental reason for the display, but the flags plastered all over my neighbor's lawn would suggest otherwise. Ug. What's more, the fireworks they were shooting off were the BIG ones that are ILLEGAL for residents to shoot off any time they feel like it without a permit. But the people who keep doing it anyway have stock in an oil company or something and are therefore rich and above the law, apparently.

Which, I guess isn't surprising because these people also have bonfires whenever they damn well please without getting permits. One of these days my house is going to burn down because they can't be bothered to follow the rules. And I know I'm not being paranoid because I live in a highly wooded area and one of them nearly set the trees on fire. [/rant]

i agree. You don't go lighting off fireworks on the Sept. 11. I was whatching the history chanell cause it had the anniverary all day long. I cried whatching the new never seen before fortage form people that was in New York. and my neighboorhood never set off any fireworks.
