On fanfiction
Dec. 13th, 2018 09:27 pmI keep seeing memes about "typical" fanfiction writing and reading and I have determined that I am not normal.
First, reading. You know the meme where everyone talks about being unaffected and poker faced while reading porn but squealing like school girls while reading fluff? I literally don't get this. Probably because I don't really do fluff. But while I get being poker faced while reading porn, the thing about porn is that if it gets your motor running, your BODY responds. Which brings me to my next point...
Writing. I once responded to an ask about whether I get turned on by writing porn and watched as everyone else who responded talked about how I'm possible it is to get turned on by something you're WRITING because you're too worried about the mechanics and vocabulary and blah blah. It made me feel like I must be doing something wrong because when I write my first draft I just let the words flow and the characters do what comes naturally. If the scene goes on long enough or is hot enough it basically turns me into a bitch in heat. Once I get to the final draft and editing I'm fine, but...
