Men
Paul Newman - My knee jerk instinct is to say "The Sting", but I really liked "Road to Perdition".
Tom Cruise - "Valkyrie" was really good, but I have to go with "Minority Report".
Dustin Hoffman - I guess I have to go with "Rain Man" since that is one of the few good movies from the 80s that has withstood the test of time.
Leonardo DiCaprio - I haven't seen "Inception" yet, so while that might be my answer in a couple months when it comes out on video, right now I have to go with "Titanic". I always had an obsession with the Titanic and James Cameron totally exploited it in the most jaw-dropping of ways.
Tom Hanks - Yikes, that is way too many good choices to choose from! (Well, except I can easily throw "Joe VS the Volcano", "Ladykillers" and "Bonfire of the Vanities" out of the running). He did a lot of good movies that I would see again in a heartbeat, but "Forest Gump" keeps floating to the top of my mind as the "best" of all of them.
Robert Redford - I'm sure "Out of Africa" was a great movie, but I found it a little hard to focus on the plot whenever he was onscreen because MAN was he pretty. I remember thinking "wow, what a message" at the end of "Lions for Lambs", but I can't remember what that message was now. "Spy Game" was a surprisingly great thriller (and it had Brad Pitt! Bonus points!). And I loved his character in "An Unfinished Life". The banter between him and Morgan Freeman was priceless.
Bruce Willis - "Armageddon". Just kidding. *ducks rotten fruit* Ahem. I have to go with "Die Hard" for action movies and "The Sixth Sense" for everything else.
Matthew McConaughey - I think I'm one of those precious few people who really liked "Contact". But I'd still probably have to go with "Amistad". Or "A Time to Kill" if I could remember it.
Tobey Maguire - "Spiderman". The first one. As far as I'm concerned, the other two both sucked.
Vin Diesel - *searches IMDB filmography for something recognizable* He was in "Saving Private Ryan"? Okay, well, I'll have to go with that.

Ladies
Cameron Diaz - I know it's only her voice, but I have to go with "Shrek".
Marilyn Monroe - "Some Like it Hot". No contest. (Of course, I haven't seen "The Misfits" yet...)
Judy Dench - "Chocolat" or "Golden Eye" depending on my mood. I know she was in "Shakespere in Love" for, like, ten minutes, but I don't count that.
Nicole Kidman - There are a lot of her movies that I think I liked more than the general public seemed to ("The Others" and "Australia" come to mind), but "The Interpreter" was probably the best.
Julia Roberts - I liked a lot of her movies, but obviously "Erin Brokovich" floats to the top of the list for many reasons. Unless I want fluff. Then I have to go with "Ocean's Eleven".
Doris Day - "The Man Who Knew Too Much". Gotta love Hitchcock. And Jimmy Stewart.
Liv Tyler - The only one that's even a possibility here is "Lord of the Rings", even though I think her character was mostly useless.
Demi Moore - "A Few Good Men" was a good movie, but "G.I. Jane" made Demi my hero.
Rene Russo - "Ransom", even though I didn't like her character because she basically stood around wringing her hands and wailing the whole time and the one time she tried to be something other than the helpless female it bit her in the ass. (See: Liv Tyler above. Lather, rinse, repeat)
Michelle Rodriguez - "Avatar". Do I really need to explain this?
